Carlisle Bike Fest - July 23-25 - Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Hi Y'all,

I left Mike’s on that Thursday morning headed for Carlisle, PA. Got to Carlisle and set up by 1:00 and Mike and I went on a nice bike ride down to Harrisburg making a few stops before having dinner that evening at the Gingerbread Man bar and grill. Had a good weekend with it being pretty hot on Saturday - around 96 degrees. It started raining about the time I started tearing down and I got soaked. I ended up waiting until late that evening to load and stayed at Carlisle on Sunday night.

Lots of nice bikes at the event

A customer that uses the STA-BIL brand said he uses the MARINE Formula STA-BIL brand now but wanted to know about the STA-BIL for diesels and was asking where he could find it. I had three or four talk about using Startron and wanted to know how it compares to STA-BIL. We talked about how the Marine Formula is made for the harsh situations and how it is stronger. An Old Indian bike owner said he was using several different cleaners and additive and was asking about the Marine Formula and realized after talking with me that all he needed was the STA-BIL Marine Formula to do it all.

I had several asking about water problems and how the HEET brand works and if it is safe to use. I told them to use the Iso-HEET for a bad problem with water and it also has a great cleaner for their system. I told them after removing the water they should think about using the Marine Formula STA-BIL to keep the water out. A biker that had a water problem with his bike wanted to try the Iso-HEET so I gave him a bottle to try. He came back the next day and said the Iso-HEET worked great and that his bike was running good.

Several were interested in the NO LEAK brands and one that had an engine leak wanted a bottle so I gave him one and he came back the next day to tell me how well it worked. A Carrera owner with a power steering problem did the same and the squealing stopped in his pump.

A biker was asking if the 104+ Octane Boost brand is safe for all bikes. Others ask why use 104+ and I told them it’s good to use 104+ because of the cleaning it does and that they would improve their performance also. Several asked about mixing the 104+ with STA-BIL and would it hurt their system. A biker that has just seen an ad for 104+ was interested in it and was asking questions. One asked if the 104+ that he used to get in a can was the same as it is now.

A trucker that was interested in the DieselPower! brand said he was told to use transmission fluid for lubrication. I told him the disadvantages of trans fluid and how DieselPower! would be better for him.

Talked with some small engine repair guys about the Start Your Engines! brand and several bikers that were interested in cleaning their systems.

*** Thanks to Mike Zimmerman for letting me stay at his house and helping me fix a water leak in the truck and re-screening my door. ***

Until next time!
