Jacksonville Boat Show - April 16-18 - Jacksonville, Florida

Hi Y'all,

Monday morning I had breakfast with Page, Pierce, and Katie Benton as we have been doing for ten years. I started cleaning my mowers so they would be dry to load on the truck. Brian and I got on the bikes and rode for a couple of hours and stopped at a restaurant on the lake in Sebring, FL. We had lobster claws for dinner and sat out in his back yard as the weather was nice.

The next morning after breakfast with the kids, I pulled out and headed for Cooks Power. This was about an hour up the road and is where Alan, my racing buddy, works.

Me with Ken Cook and Alan Elder at Cooks PowerMe, Debra and Alan @ Finns Dockside

I washed the truck and trailer that afternoon and went home with Alan to go for a boat ride with Deb, his wife. We went to JJ Finns on the lake and had a good time trying to get the waitress to guess what I’m the champion off. She guessed it on the third try. Left the next morning headed for Jacksonville where I set up, got on my bike, and went to dinner with my buddy Frank Church “The Minister of Speed” at Billy’s Boat House on the intercostals waterway. I’m sitting right next to the Miss Geico racing boat so Bruce, Mike, and I went down to the Riverfront where they were having a Tea Party (they wouldn’t let me talk which was probably a good thing).

Bikini Contest

Lauryn Bocook - Miss Jacksonville International Boat Show - on the 104+ Mower

On Friday there was the bikini contest with 12 contestants for Miss Jacksonville International boat show where I got a picture of Lauryn Bocook (http://www.laurynb.com/) -the winner- on the 104+ mower and one of me with her and the Monster Mower.

Me and Lauryn with the Monster Mower

I had a nice motorcycle ride around Jacksonville on Friday night where the weather was great. Saturday evening after a great day of talking to customers with Frank and George helping out, we went to the Tiki party where we were fed by one of the local vendors. Sunday was very good with lots of traffic and lots of good question. I got pictures of Pirates on the mowers also. Frank and George came back to help me tear down which got me home before midnight.

Pirates invade the compound

- Many customers came by to tell me how well the STA-BIL brands are working for them.
- A Yamaha dealer said every other person that came in the shop was looking for Marine Formula STA-BIL brand.
- An Austin Heely owner that has an open vent system was concerned about his fuel and was asking about the Marine Formula. He said he was going to tell his club about the problems with ethanol and how STA-BIL works.
- A Suzuki motorcycle owner wanted to know what to use to keep his system clean so we talked about using STA-BIL and 104+®.
- A guy’s dad had been ordering a product online to treat his fuel but after talking with me about the Marine Formula, and that STA-BIL cost less, he was going to tell his dad to start using STA-BIL.
- A new boat owner said the dealer told him to use the STA-BIL Marine Formula.
- One said he used FPPF to rid his diesel of algae and I told him that the STA-BIL for diesels helps prevent his fuel from growing algae and also lubricates his system.

- Talked about the Iso-HEET brand as a great water remover and compared it to the Medic guy. - Several that had a major water problem said they would use the Iso-HEET and then use the Marine Formula STA-BIL brand regularly to keep the water out.

- Several talked about using the 104+ Octane Boost brand in their boats, cars, and motorcycles for better performance and to get their octane up. They say fuel is not as good as it used to be and that the octane is low.

- A diesel boat owner was concerned about what to treat his system with. We talked about the DieselPower! brands and also the STA-BIL for Diesels for when his unit sits.

- I gave a can of the Start Your Engines! ® to a customer that had an idle problem in his motorcycle.

The show was smaller than last year, but I was in a much better location which got me much more traffic. We had great weather all weekend and I had positive comments about our product where boaters are saying they have been using the Marine Formula STA-BIL brand and are having great results. Many comments on the water removal comparison that the Medic guy was doing but after talking with me they said they would use our STA-BIL instead. I had lots of interest in the give away mower and many said they would go to the http://shouldbobbygo.com/ to vote. A very good show.

Until Next time!

USLMRA Avon Park - April 10-11 - Avon Park, Florida

Hi Y'all,

Friday started with a plane ride from Atlanta - Charlotte - Tampa where Bruce Kaufman ('Mr. Mow it All') met me at the airport. Bruce rented a car which turned out to be a Toyota Prius that we had to learn how to drive. I was a little nervous but still rode in the front seat. We decided to stop for a snack at the Crazy Fish in Lake Whales, FL where we made a video. (http://www.youtube.com/user/USLawnMowerRacing#p/u/2/pYAPNAh4Kso)

We made it down to Avon Park that evening without any car trouble (No sticking accelerator pedal). I helped Brian and Pat work on mowers that afternoon in his shop and I had dinner that night at Chille’s in Sebrings with several friends from all over the country like Brian and Susan-Florida, Kerry Evans-Alabama, Bruce-Chicago, Jason, Kevin-Maryland, Pat Sullivan-Florida, also had my picture made with Miss Avon Park.

Me at the Crazy FishJason, me and Kevin - racing buddiesMiss Avon Park and meMe with Alan Elder at the track
George and me with the Monster MowerAnswering some questions

Raced on Saturday with my old friend that came out of retirement - Alan Elder “The Worm Burnner” (http://www.youtube.com/user/USLawnMowerRacing#p/u/1/CvNvOZlCC4k) and had a good finish in BP with a 2nd place. I also showed off the Monster Mower with the crowd really enjoying that. I talked with many customers and answered many question about Gold Eagle products and we handed out hats, product, and coupons to the crowd. Also, between the races they had tractor pulls that kept the spectators happy. I hung out in the pits that evening telling stories and talking about http://shouldbobbygo.com/ (Everything we said that night ended in .com).

Sunday was a good day that starting with breakfast with Debra and Alan Elder. I got 5th place in the IMOW class as the guy in front of me got DQ. The BP race I ran second most of the race and I caught and passed Michael Formantini for 1st place. I showed off and did a couple of doughnut in the infield. ( I am a show off ) I’m still in 1st place in the points and I have to talk trash while I can so everyone had to listen to me that evening while we were eating steaks at Brian Benton back yard which has a nice hammock with fan, TV, and pond with a rock waterfall.

Until next time!

I'm Going to England - with your help!

Hi Y'all!

As many of you know, I set the land speed record for the World’s Fastest Lawnmower on July 4, 2006. Recently, the folks at Project Runningblade over in England have challenged my record. This will take place at the Pendine Sands in Wales, England the weekend of May 22.

I wish them luck, and I would love to go over and see it happen for myself. If they beat the record, who knows - I may have to go back to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah again to get the record back on this side of the pond where it belongs.

Here’s what I’m asking you all to do: Please watch this YouTube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0_LFsAcYSE (we want this clip to get a lot of hits) and – once at the ‘ShouldBobbyGo’ site, please cast your vote. You can vote once a day. The site also has a media gallery where you can see the original footage of the '06 record, hear from my friends and family and learn more about the Project Runningblade folks - and donate to their awesome charities.

Thanks so much! These social media events can’t work unless you tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and so on … so please share the link to the YouTube clip with your buddies.

Until next time -

Barrett-Jackson - April 1-3 - W. Palm Beach, Florida

Hi Y'all,

I was at the same location I was at last year. I was very busy and answered many questions on how to keep fuel fresh and concerns about the ethanol in the fuel. Most of these people have more than one car, with many having cars that just sit. I gave a lot of coupons away and most said they were going to use the Marine Formula STA-BIL brand. Everyone thanked me for the coupons and taking time to tell them how to treat their fuel. Several said they saw me at other shows and wanted me to start the 104+ mower for their buddies to hear. Several others had seen the 104+ speed record and remembered my face. Many registered to win the lawnmower. I gave over a case of STA-BIL samples out and I also handed out many second chance cards for the mower.

The STA-BIL brands were the top subject to talk about at the show. Most of the talk was about treating fuel because this area is getting ready for hurricane season and every one is thinking about their generators. Many keep several five-gallon cans of fuel available for the season and are asking about how to treat their fuel and want to know about ethanol and the Marine Formula. One said he had sixty gallons for his generator and he always uses STA-BIL and was concerned about the ethanol in his fuel. Several said they still could get non-ethanol fuel but it was hard to find. An automotive repair shop that works on small engines and jet skies said he had never seen as many gummed up carburetors. He said he always tells his customers to use STA-BIL and he would be using the Marine Formula now. I had several guys tell me they have been using the Marine Formula and have not had any fuel problems. Many with boats that have been using STA-BIL said they were going to start using the Marine Formula and they didn’t care what it cost. A boat dealer on the gulf coast that sells Startron said he used the new Marine Formula and pushes STA-BIL over Startron. A Canadian was interested in the Marine Formula and asks where he could find it in Canada. One guy said he had seen the commercial that STA-BIL had a new and improved formula for their cars. Many that have been using STA-BIL for years said after finding out about the Marine Formula they was going to use it in their cars and trucks instead of the regular STA-BIL. A boat owner that had problems with his engine not coming up to rpm and it wouldn’t idle said he put in STA-BIL and ran a tank thru and his engine…it cleared right up. I had more than one that had problems with their fuel gauge sticking in their tanks looking for a cleaner said they would try the Marine Formula as it had more cleaners in it. Several wanted to know if they could run STA-BIL in every tank of fuel and would STA-BIL harm their system. Some of the guys from the north said they were going to try the Marine Formula in their snowmobiles. Many wanted to know where to get the one gallon size and how much would it cost. Several asked where to get the STA-BIL for diesels and how much it cost. I had 4 or 5 say that STA-BIL didn’t work for them which make me believe that they might have the old formula. Several asked me if the old formula would still work for them. I told them that the new formulation would work and if they were concerned that they should try the Marine Formula.

Many were interested in the Iso-HEET brand and got lots of questions about water removal. I had several say they used HEET to help remove water in their systems. I would tell them how to use the Iso-HEET when removing lots of water in their system and how they should use STA-BIL to prevent this from happening again. Most of these guys were boaters but lots of the guys with multiple cars were concerned about ethanol and getting water in their system.

Several asked how the NO LEAK brand works and I gave a bottle of power steering and one of the cooling system NO LEAK to guys that had problems. They all said they would e-mail me on their results. One was interested in the NO LEAK product as he had several cars that just sit and end up with small leaks. He said he had to keep up with the battery, the fuel, and the leaks.

I had some comments on guys using the AlumAseal brand in the past and wanted to know if it would clog their system. They said it helped them out when they needed it. I gave a tube to a customer that had a leak and wanted to try it.

Many said they had been using the 104+ brand to help with their performance when they couldn’t find high octane fuel. Some said they would occasionally use 104+ to help keep their system clean. Others said they would use 104+ for pinging in their engines. Several bikers said they used 104+ all the time when they went on a long trip as they have a hard time finding 91 to 93 octane fuel. A couple of guys ask if we made 104+ in a smaller bottle. Most of these guys have nice cars and lots of them are older cars and they only use high octane fuel. Many said they didn’t get the performance out of the ethanol fuel.

Many were concerned about treating their diesel fuel and wanted to know if the DieselPower! brand would preserve their fuel and would DieselPower! stop the algae from growing in their fuel. I told them about the STA-BIL for diesel. Many were concerned about the wear of their engine with the low sulfur fuel. I told them that all the DieselPower! products had lubricants but it was not an algaecide. I gave several coupons for DieselPower! and told them where to get DieselPower!.

*** Thanks to Kurt Olson with Barrett-Jackson for helping me with my setup location and to Dave Coleman one of our reps from the area. He came by and helped me tear down on Saturday. Also Kurt said that the attendance was up about 8% from last year.

I was very busy at this show and most of these guys couldn’t get enough information on how to treat their fuel as they are concerned with ethanol. The STA-BIL products was the main topic. A very good show.

Until next time!

Mid-America Truck Show (MATS) - March 24-27 - Louisville, Kentucky

Hi Y'all,

Tom, Tony, and I set up on Wednesday and started the show with two pallets of 20 oz. DieselPower! brand complete and 3,000 DieselPower! hats.

Thursday was very busy with product getting low. Friday was just as busy with us running out of product before noon. We kept going by giving out hats and getting many more scanned names than last year. The hats ran out late Friday afternoon and we had nothing left to give out but some literature. We were concerned about what to do but actually we had more time to talk to customers and we ended up getting lots of info and answering many questions. The $150,000 Safe Cracker game was very popular which we played every half hour. We had the $450,000 game at the Sirius radio booth with many people scanning their cards just to enter to play that game. At 2:15 on Saturday I was interviewed on Sirius radio live for 30 minutes and answered many questions about DieselPower!® and Gold Eagle Company products.

Me on Sirius Radio

There were many questions on the STA-BIL® brands and the new Diesel STA-BIL® was talked about a lot. Many didn’t know that DieselPower! ® was made by the same company as STA-BIL®. Several asked about the STA-BIL® marine formula and wanted to know the difference between the two. Many were interested in the STA-BIL for Diesels and wanted to know how to get it.

We had lots of interest in the DieselPower! ® brand bulk sizes especially with the multi-truck owners. Also, lots of good comments on how good DieselPower! ® works and how bad fuels are today.

This was a really good event.
Thanks to Tom Bingham and Tony Wallis for their help!

Until next time -

Cherry Blossom Festival - March 20-21 - Macon, Georgia

Hi Y'all,

We set up on Friday in a nice location with the staff of the Cherry Blossom festival helping out tremendously. Saturday was a wonderful day with a great crowd staying all day. There was a line to register for the lawnmower all day. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nydAAZHxUWM).

We gave many coupons, decals, keychains, and brochures out. A film crew with ESPN.COM from New York came down to video the United States Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA) races. I was interviewed by the local Macon newspaper and you can see it at macon.com. The numbers were up from last year and all the venders ran out of food and drinks. Sunday was rained out but it still was a good weekend.

Mostly talked about the STA-BIL brands and most had to do with ethanol. A Dr. Deagle came by politicking about getting ethanol out of the fuel in Georgia. I gave many sample packs out along with many mail in coupons. I got a few questions on the STA-BIL for diesels.

I was asked about a water remover so we talked about how the HEET brands works but that they should use a stabilizer to help control their water problems.

A couple of guys wanted to know about the NO LEAK brands and how they stop leaks. One had a transmission leak and wanted to try NO LEAK. Another wanted to know if NO LEAK would work in his bike.

Several recognized the AlumAseal brand and had used it before.

The 104+ Octane Boost brand was the second most talked about with many motorcycle guys there. They liked the coupons and were concerned about the problems they were having with the ethanol fuel in their systems.

Several were interested in where to get the DieselPower! brand product and most appreciated the fact that it was made by the same company as STA-BIL.

Many were asking how the Start Your Engines! product worked. Some of the racers wanted a can of the DOGG branded product. They said it worked great on their mowers.

Until next time!
